Someone in Czech Republic at the moment?
I am there at Cerny Dul coming days.
Had already a great day today. My wife on her new Dual snowboard thinks it’s perfect.

Sorry
I am from Slovakia and was asking whether the slopes in Czech are good for EC
Re: Someone in Czech Republic at the moment?
There are not many steep wide slopes.
The red and black ones available are most narrow and or not well prepared.
I am in the Giant Mountains
I find the best one with best conditions is the slope of Cerny Dul. In the quiet hours and days piste has still good flat snow into afternoon.
Spindleruv Mlyn can be good on the Medvedin, but since it is a south slope, and used by many learners, slope gets worse within an hour.
Svaty Petr is too busy with all Russian. Wait times at the lift are even in quiet days up to 30 minutes.
Janske Lazne is a great area for ski, but worse for snowboard in general.
Pec pod snezkou has nice slopes, but too busy or too blue. And all are towing anker lifts on the good slopes.
Day tickets vary between 25 and 40 euro.
You can see all slopes at https://holidayinfo.cz

Thank you. I will rather focus on Austria.

Great summary of "Krkonose" resorts getlem
I used your Cerny Dul tip for my last day of the season this Saturday. It was great to be alone on the chair lift and number of people on the slope was easilly counted by fingers on one hand of "Canadian woodsman" as we say

Re: Someone in Czech Republic at the moment?
Enjoy! IT must have been one of the last days in Cerny dul, as IT is mostly closing at end of march.
Janske is always a month longer due to the higher pistes.
But Cerny is cheaper for tickets.

Re: Someone in Czech Republic at the moment?
Yes it was last weekend. To me snow conditions at Cerny Dul were "on the edge". There were some "browny snow" places needed to be bypassed. But luckilly without stones.
Looking at your pictures - if whole your week was like that then you must have enjoyied it a lot. Especially such an empty slopes. And of course snow conditions!
Re: Someone in Czech Republic at the moment?
Snowconditions where ideal for snowboarding.
Even the middle slope had some fresh powdery snow. (however, there appeared some old ice blocks covered, thats why you see us falling down on one of the vids).
There was 75cm fresh snow, followed by a little defrost, then a frosty period. So you could walk outside the pistes on the 1meter of snow, because of the Icy layer of 3cm on the snow.\
On the pistes itself, it was marvelous, because a corduroy frozen piste is speedy

Re: Someone in Czech Republic at the moment?
Hi,
I also want to thank you for this tip. In the first week of February I was in Pec pod Snežkou and when I saw this thread I did one day trip with skibus to Černý Důl and had a gread sunny day of carving. (Well in my case learning to carve
The slopes are really good for practicing there!

Re: Someone in Czech Republic at the moment?
...yes but that applies only for first two runs until you get your ideal course...
We got simmilar great conditions two weeks after in Sumava after several bad years...
Re: Someone in Czech Republic at the moment?
Looks like we can get some coffee and carving together next year..
Now for 28 years in Krknose, every year. It will be 25th time in Cerny Dul next year. Always around 3 or 4th week of january.
I saw Cerny Dul growing from just 1 towing lift and a short piste, to what it is now: 2 chairlifts, longer pistes. And even a piste that is created by me and my friends: Holandska.
Holandska was not a piste until 10 years ago. We were freeriding on our snowboards on the covered road, through the gullies, and through the woods. At some point in time, there were to many people following us, so they created the blue piste.
However, it is now not nice freeriding anymore...
