Stiffest soft boots

Post by tohass » Monday 20 December 2010, 14:43

Which are the stiffest soft boots this year?

I read that the Burton DriverX is softer this year compared to previous model.

What about Salomon Malamute?

Deeluxe GTI boots with stiffening rods I think they were produced back in 04/05, I just ordered a pair I have read that these are the stiffest softboots ever made. I have the driver x now so I will compare these two boots asap.

Found the other thread with these and sounds interesting but they are only available in size 26.
How are the DriverX? Do they get softer or are they still quite stiff after some days?

The driver x are very stiff. I bought the deeluxe gti boots because I needed a second pair for my board at my other house. I have not been on the driver x boots enough to say if they soften up after riding them. I doubt they will because they are awesome well built boots Burton makes a quality product especially their high end equipment.

Salomon Malamute

Post by yomama » Tuesday 28 December 2010, 17:24

I have a 10 yrs old pair of Salomon Malamute.

Even though they are quite stiff, they were not designed to ride with high angles. Above 25 degrees and I would start feeling painful pressure points that makes carving less than ideal.

That is my personal experience on a 10 yrs old pair so please take it with a grain a salt :D
