Bomber Industries goes bankrupt

Post by fivat » Tuesday 24 October 2017, 18:30

This is sad news... You have probably read in their Forum here (and over Internet here) that Bomber Industries goes bankrupt.

We had a long friendship and partnership, first with Fin Doyle (and his assistant Michelle) from 2001, then with Jim Callen (and his wife Angie) who bought the company in 2015. They were Swoard dealer since 2003. We (Nils and I) met Fin in Aspen at SES 2004. Jacques had many passionate e-mails with Fin about bindings for EC... which probably led, but partially, to the SideWinder TD3.
Recently, it was a pleasure collaborating with Jim, who speaks French too.

There is probably no future for the Bomber bindings, unless a buyer continues business. Some of us were (are) using these bindings and for sure we will still see them on the snow for years.

So, we are shocked.
Jim, if we can help, make us a sign!

The Forum will survive for sure: there are enough passionate riders to maintain it. We hope there will still be carving events in USA, it's important for our sport.

In the next weeks we should get more info.

I have heard some rumors about Fin getting back.
Let's hope.

Bomber still has an active website but not sure how active it is. Don't know if you can purchase anything for example.

http://store.bomberonline.com/Boards_c_9.html

Any other sites that are in English for carving equipment? Looking to upgrade my 20+ year old Burton board, bindings and maybe boots.
Early 90's Burton Alp board, hardboots and bingings with no cant. Carving since 1990.

Bomber store and forum and currently officially down both.
Until issues are fixed, use lucidcarving link provided above.

Thanks for the reply Jax. What are "red bindings"? I have been looking a lot this year and know I will get a Swoard gen 4 or pro. Boots and bindings are still a big question. Very concerned about buying boots I have not been able to try on.

Swoard made special bindings for ec that are called Redline.
For boots depends from your feet and your pocket...

Swoard Redline bindings... nickname: "Red"
Official announcement soon (last year was testing year by the Swoard team and lucky first customers)!

Bomber Industries goes bankrupt

Post by Wouter » Wednesday 15 November 2017, 22:01

Thanks for letting this now. I was about to buy a spring set they sell on their website. The contact page has stopped working.

I am still interested to buy a acss but I’m lost now.

Rafal from Poland made them before but doesn’t reply to his mails anymore. He promised he’d make new ones in September again but I have no news.

Does anyone has a suggestion where to buy a acss system or similar for Deeluxe boots?

Many thanks in advance.

Wouter

Bomber BTS at Carvers Paradise: http://www.carversparadise.com/product_ ... ts_id=1347
Other possibilities are the system of Drupi (some threads below),
or the Szaman-t spring system: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11201

So many choices ...
